I think we often overlook where this world is going to. All together I spent 21 days in India on this trip, and it made me question a lot of things. Their way of living, celebrating and loving is nothing like the western world is imposing on us. Yet, it’s equally beautiful, breathtaking or heartfelt. Like in many things in life, there are different ways leading to the same goal.
Months ago I was standing stunned in front of an email from Ano. She read on my travel page how India is one of my bucket list places, and got in touch. From the moment I replied back I held my fingers crossed, and just moments after our immediate Skype call – went out to search for the tickets.
I landed in Mumbai even though first part of the celebration took place in Goa, then leading to Calcutta. The story continues as you scroll through. I really couldn’t keep this one shorter.
After the henna dried out we took a short walk to the beach. Here’s the first part:

Before the main ceremony, which is sometimes arranged in the middle of the night (luckily not in this case), the couple needs a blessing from the family and friends. The day contains numerous rituals and customs and it doesn’t come easy on the couple. Especially after a night of partying. Wedding photographer India
Calcutta or Kolkata was the location of the official reception. Even though I left out most of the reception images as they’re mostly consisted of formals, these subtle glimpses of the city will hopefully complete the picture of beautiful India through a short session we did there.
